Health Care Worker Visa
- The Health and Care Worker Visa allows foreign nationals with medical and care skills to work with the NHS, an NHS supplier, or in the adult care sector. The advantages of applying for this visa are that after 5 years you may be able to apply for settlement and you may be exempt from paying the Immigration Health Surcharge.
- To apply for a health and care worker visa you must satisfy the following:
- You must be a qualified nurse, doctor, health professional or adult social care worker
- You must be earning the minimum salary or the ‘going rate’ for the type of work
- You should be able to demonstrate your ability to speak English at level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages There are exceptions to sitting the English test, some of these include: having passed an approved test in a previous successful application, being from a majority English speaking country, possessing a qualification at degree level or above which was taught in English.
- You have to can read, write, speak and understand English to at least level B1 on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) scale.
