Private Life Applications
Private life Applications are made under Appendix Private Life which was introduced on 20 June 2022. This covers the following applications:
- A child born in the UK can submit an application for Indefinite Leave to Remain (Settlement) after completing seven years of his or her life in the UK and it would be unreasonable for him or her to leave the UK
- A young adult aged between 18 to 24 years can meet the criteria for immediate settlement (Indefinite Leave to Remain) based on them having lived in the UK for more than half their life
- An applicant over 18 years of age, who has lived continuously in the UK for at least 20 years at the date of application, can apply for leave to remain based on private life
- If you are over 18 and you have spent less than 20 years of your life in the UK and you would have significant obstacles in the country where you would return to
- You can apply as a dependent child born in the UK to a person who had permission to stay in the UK on the basis of their private life
